Pakistan will play a trick to stop IPL, PCB is preparing to mislead other cricket boards!

Karachi: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will talk to the rest of the board on the proposal to give a two-and-a-half-month window to the IPL in the ICC’s Future Tours Program (FTP) calendar. The PCB believes that it will have an adverse effect on many international series. BCCI secretary Jay Shah had said that the FTP cycle from 2024 to 2031 will have a window of two and a half months for the IPL.
Media Rights IPL vs PSL: Pakistan considers PSL to be a competition of IPL, price of media rights exposed
Shah had said, “From the next FTP cycle, there will be a window of two and a half months for the IPL so that all the top international cricketers can play in it. We have discussed this with other boards and also with the ICC. The PCB is of the view that the matter needs to be discussed.

A PCB source said, “The ICC Board will meet in July on the sidelines of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games and the issue will be discussed.” A PCB official said it is good to see money coming into cricket but BCCI’s plan to fully book top cricketers every year for the IPL will have an adverse impact on international bilateral series.

The players of Pakistan participated in the first season of IPL. Playing for Rajasthan Royals, Sohail Tanvir was also the highest wicket-taker of the season. But since the 2008 terrorist attack on Mumbai, Pakistani players are not included in the IPL.

On Tuesday itself, the BCCI has sold the media rights of the IPL. The board has earned Rs 48,390 crore from selling media rights for five years. With this, the IPL has come second in the list of leagues earning media rights per match after the National Football League (NFL) of America.
