The Indian cricket team has reached England for a series of one Test, three ODIs and as many T20 matches. According to the report, on this tour, former Bengal cricketer and former Bengal Cricket Association (CAB) secretary Devvrat Das (Debu) will accompany the team to England as a manager. Apart from playing domestic cricket for Bengal, Devvrat has also played for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League.

Although one of his identity is also associated with Team India’s star fast bowler Mohammad Shami. In fact, Devvrat is the first person who tested Shami and gave him a chance in Bengal cricket and carved him into a great bowler. Shami is from Amroha in Uttar Pradesh but he started in domestic cricket from Bengal who is now the main fast bowler of Team India.

Devvrat made his debut in Bengal domestic cricket in 2008. During this he played three First Class, 45 List A and 57 T20 matches. He scored just 75 runs in First Class, 839 in List A and 728 runs in T20Is. Devvrat, on the other hand, made his debut for KKR in the IPL in 2008 against Mumbai Indians.

Shami is the star of Team India

After proving his mettle in Bengal cricket, Shami now remains a difficult challenge for batsmen around the world. In red ball cricket, he is a key member of the team’s bowling attack. He has appeared in 59 Tests, 79 ODIs and 17 T20 matches for Team India. Shami has so far taken a total of 214 wickets for India in Tests.
