Girl turned from boy, discrimination due to being transgender, now expressed her pain in front of the world

The International Swimming Federation (FINA) has decided to ban American swimmer Lia Thomas. Thomas is a transgender swimmer and used to compete in women’s swimmers, but after FINA’s decision, she will no longer be able to compete with women’s swimmers. FINA has said in its statement that it is going to create a separate category for transgender swimmers, in which Thomas can participate.

On the other hand, under the new rules for transgenders, a transgender woman can only take part in a women’s swimming competition if she has completed all biological transformation processes by the age of 12. In addition, they must also prove that they are consistently lowering their testosterone levels.

FINA’s decision comes after the International Olympic Committee’s decision in which they have given the federation the option of making rules related to transgender in individual sporting competition. The rationale behind this is that no woman can compete with men with traits that have higher testosterone levels.

Lia Thomas won the women’s 500 yard freestyle earlier this year. She was the first transgender swimmer to be crowned champion in Division I history. Liya has been associated with this sport since the age of 12. In such a situation, under this new rule, Liya Thomas can no longer take part in the Olympic competition in the women’s category.
